A New American Classic: The Lodge Swing

A new collaboration brings Old Hickory craftsmanship to the great outdoors.

Some pieces of furniture are made for a room. Others are made for a way of life.

Old Hickory Furniture has joined forces with designer Max Humphrey and The Porch Swing Company to introduce The Lodge Swing—a new take on an American classic, handcrafted in Indiana and designed for long afternoons, front porch conversations, mountain retreats, and life lived outdoors.

The collaboration brings together three distinct points of view: Old Hickory’s more than 125 years of American furniture making, Humphrey’s signature Modern Americana style, and The Porch Swing Company’s expertise in outdoor living. The result feels both nostalgic and entirely new.

An American Classic, Reimagined

The porch swing has long held a place in American homes, lodges, and retreats. For The Lodge Swing, that familiar form became the starting point for something more considered.

“We took nostalgia as our starting point and pushed every detail to the edge of design,” says Beau Parsons, CEO of Old Hickory Furniture.

Handcrafted by the Old Hickory team in Indiana, The Lodge Swing combines traditional materials and techniques with details designed specifically for outdoor living. Slatted wood, herringbone DuraCane® detailing, ruched chain covers, and a generously upholstered cushion give the piece the unmistakable character of Old Hickory while keeping the silhouette relaxed and inviting.

Available in Espresso and Green finishes, the swing can be customized with a curated selection of Sunbrella® outdoor fabrics from the Max Humphrey collection, making it equally at home on a classic front porch, a modern mountain home, or a lakeside retreat.

Made to Live Outdoors

Like every Old Hickory piece, The Lodge Swing is built with longevity in mind.

Weather-resistant materials and outdoor finishes help it stand up to the elements, while heavy-duty hanging chains and galvanized and zinc-plated hardware provide strength and resistance to rust and corrosion. Each detail has been considered to create a piece that feels substantial, comfortable, and made to be lived with season after season.

It’s furniture made for slowing down—for morning coffee, afternoon naps, long conversations, and evenings that stretch a little later than planned.
